when you look at the start menu or program files (x86), there is no google chrome?

When you do a windows search for chrome, does it come up?

start > run > appwiz.cpl
is google chrome showing?

https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/index.html?standalone=1#eula

https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/index.html?system=true&standalone=1#eula

the second link installs for all users.  the first one is for the current user.

Try these standalone installers, run as admin and see.  When you do a windows search for chrome, does it come up?

start > run > appwiz.cpl
is google chrome showing?

I believe Chrome is a 32-bit program.  It will install either in C:\Program Files (x86) or in your user area.  More info here: http://www.jephens.com/2012/02/16/installing-chrome-on-a-windows-2008-r2-terminal-server/

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

I too am having the same issue when trying to install the exact same setup file (chromestandalonesetup.exe).  It flashes the initial install screen, then silently disappears and fails.  Inside the event log, I see a .wer file with the following information:

Any advice?  Has anyone gotten around this on a 2008 R2 sp1 server?
