Hi All,

I have a couple of questions relating to CRM Dynamics, here goes:

Opportunities Search Filter:
When attempting to search within opportunities we can only search the 'Topic' column and cannot seem to search any of the other columns displayed on the search page. One of the columns we would like to search is potential customer and this column is displayed on the search page and I have also gone into customizations to look into the attributes of this field and ensure ensure it is set to searchable> Yes which indeed it is. I am confused right now with this and why it is occurring.

Populating account
Is there a way to populate a new or existing account with the main contact info once the contact for the account has been selected as we are finding we are double handling info when creating a contact and then need to enter the same info into the account page.

Any assistance on these 2 issues would be greatly appreciated and Thanks in advance.
Adma.

Question 1: Go to customization and look at the Quick Find view, there you will see that you configure Find columns.

Question 2:  . I'm not exactly sure what you are looking to do, it sounds as if you want to copy data from a contact to the parent account. I think that will require Jscript

Thanks Feridun, your response to Question1. was spot on.

Q2. we are just to save on the double handling of inputting the contact info twice and have the contact information present when creating the account, i.e. fields already pre-populated.

If a contact is created from within an account, then fields such as address fields are copied from the account to the contact.

So the process is create the account first, save the record, then create the contact record. If you create the contact first and then create the account CRM does not offer a way to populate fields in the account. It could be done using some form of programming.
