Visio 2010 - Lines not gluing to connection points

I created a connection point in a shape.  However, when I attempt to attach a line to it, the connection point lights up in gray.  It does NOT light up in green, nor do I get the message "Glue to connection point"
Other shapes DO light up in green and give me the message "glue to connection point."  What am I doing wrong?

Hi BT,

Sounds more like the colors for Visio 2013 than Visio 2010. Anyway, hard to tell without seeing a screenshot or trying out a test file.

I couldn't reproduce using my list of usual suspects...

Yes.  It was 2013, not 2010.  
Strange doings in Visio 2013.  Yes.  it was 2013.
I tried adding connectors and didn't have any success trying to SNAP to them.
Then, all of a sudden, the dreaded message "VISIO HAS STOPPED WORKING"
VISIO IS RESTARTING  DO YOU WANT TO SEND A MESSAGE TO MICROSOFT.
Uggggh.
anyway,
After Visio restarated connectors worked fine!
Connection points are correctly lighting up in green!
