hi - I have scom 2012 - I have several other cisco and even nortel switche being picked up by network discovery - but 1 in particular it wont pick up after discovery (recursive) - no idea now - ive enabled snmp as i did on the others. - I cant help feeling i missed a crucial step. - it has been a while since i did the previous switch additions.

I ran the following on the 2960 to enable snmp v 3
1  snmp-server enable traps

2   snmp-server user TRAP TRAP v3 auth sha password

3   create group - with       -     snmp-server group TRAP v3 auth

when i run the discovery - nothing added( i add the ip in of the new switch) it does not appear

i downloaded snmp utility to test - and it worked - when i show snmp on switch  - i can see some snmp packets - after the discovery there is no snmp packet addition. Again I just think im missing a step - can anyone assist please?

cant even get icmp monitor to pick up device

firewall off

Hi

Have you tried using WireShark to confirm what version of SNMP your device is responding to or setup for.

Maybe try set the discovery to SNMP v1 only and try the test again ?

Thanks
