interactive web calendar widget

I built a website for our local club using a simple web build programme and would like to add a calendar widget on the first page that will interact with a hidden calendar that has all the dates and detail on it.

I have seen one of these on another clubs website so I know it is possible but have no idea how this can be done. I am sure it must be pretty complicated.

Are there any experts out there that can provide me with the relevant code to be able to add one of these calendars to my website?

Here's hoping
Thanks

I use http://arshaw.com/fullcalendar/ but if you are new to programming this is not the thing for you.  Instead, use google calendar https://www.google.com/calendar and you can embed it on your site.

To embed google calendar on your site, go to your calendar, on the left column click the down arrow next to your calendar.  Now go to settings.

You will see links for: General  Calendars  Mobile Setup    Labs

Make sure you are on Calendars and Click on Shared Settings and make it public.

Now you have 3 links for
Calendar Details
Reminders and notifications

Click on Share This Calendar and make it visible for the public

Click on Calendar Details  and you will see ,"Embed This Calendar" on the left and to the right of that the embed code to place on your site.

Not intuitive at all but it works
