Is it possible to embed the login credentials within the logmein pro desktop shortcut URL? This way I would be able to auto log into the machine without having to enter the credentials each time. Yes I know about password managers but for this particular use I want to accomplish it without a password manager.

The answer is "no" unfortunately.

The shortcut created has only a lightweight association with the machine to connect to.  Your operating system fires your default browser which connects to LogMeIn based on the URL - all this, I'm sure you don't need describing. :)  From there, LogMeIn redirects the browser to the appropriate URL for the machine's current connection (which changes over time for security reasons).  By the time the browser has reached the option to login to the desktop, the shortcut's parameters are long-lost.  Altering the shortcut has no effect (I've tried just in case!).
