VPN on Windows Server 2008 R2 error

Hi Experts,

I am trying to setup a VPN connection on Windows Server 2008 R2, there is nothing special about the configuration since this is just a test VPN and it is the same steps I used to do it a few weeks ago. I just want to setup a VPN -PPTP to test connect to my home from outside.

However, today I was hit with the error, please see the screenshot. I have been trying troubleshoot but I am totally having no clue now.

The error in the screenshot is from I tried to create a VPN connection from a windows 7 machine in the same network. I also tried on Mac but no luck.

But in the last minutes  I tried to create a VPN connection on its own machine(windows 2008R2 which I have installed VPN) and it works(connected), but what is the point since I can't connect from outside. Therefore, please help me out. Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,
phucdk

check your encryption settings at both ends.  One side may be set to require encryption and disconnect if not.  Also check to make sure protocols match.

Hi,

I have found out the problem. My VM is running on vSphere 5.5 and there is problem regarding to the NIC driver, after changing the adapter driver to vmxnet3 instead of E1000 the VPN connection works without needing configure anything else.
