I have report server which is configured in the server. For data source I could point to that data source. But without replacing the rdl file in the report server I would like to test my report. I would like to do modification in the report in Design mode. Please do suggest how to achieve it?

It would be great if you share any test/sample project.

Thanks in advance.

You cannot test a report without deploying it.

Best you can do to test is, configure a report server on your local machine and deploy the reports to your machine. Once you are satisfied with the changes, then deploy it to production environment.

Hope my suggestion will help you.

Hi,

Set Up SSRS server on your local machine
Please refer to steps
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156305.aspx

once it is set up, in you report project, change the depoy URL to the new locally installed server
