Installation of 2 Xenapp 6.5 web interfaces behind netscaler

I am building out a new xenapp 6.5 farm to replace our old citrix environment. I currently have 3 app servers up and running. I also have 2 web interface servers that are both configured and each works correctly, independently.

I have 2 netscaler 5550's in place that we are currently using for our exchange load balancing that I would like to utilize to load balance our xenapp environment to provide internal and external access.

My thoughts are as follows and Im not 100% sure if this is correct so bear with me. I think what I want to do is use the netscaler with the access gateway option to load balance the two web interface servers.

I would create to Virtual IPs (1 internal and 1 in our DMZ), I would then create DNS entries on our internal and external DNS to allow clients to reach the VIP name regardless of whether they are internal or external.

Am I correct in my assumptions and is there any kind of documentation or step by step out there for configuring the netscalers this way.

Thanks

You are on the right track.  You would have an internal Load Balanced vserver (VIP) load balancing TCP 443 (an/or TCP 80) for your two web interface servers and your internal DNS entry would point to the IP of this vserver.  You would also have a NetScaler Gateway vserver which would live in the DMZ, your external DNS entry would point to a public IP that is NAT'd at your firewall to this vserver IP (VIP).  The session policy for the NetScaler gateway would point users to the VIP for the web interface load balancer.  You would also need to configure Secure Access settings in Web Interface for these sites as well using the Gateway Direct access method.
