From what I am seeing this might be invalid xml formatting based on esxi 5

"For anyone else that is using this, it appears that ESXi 5 returns string values differently than 4.1.  Instead of
"value"
it now comes back as

"value"
.  Line 119 of com/vmware/vim/rest/ResultConverter.java needs to be modified to handle this new format as it tries to remove the first and last characters which now makes the new value invalid XML. "

Ok so it seems like it was definitely an xml parsing issue.

Great you got it resolved.
