We have office 2010 starter and it keeps changing the default program back to the screen to purchase the program.  I keep changing the default back to word and excel, but days later it will change the default back.  Is there a way through a batch file or something that can reset the programs to open with word and excel starter?

You probably have a trial version of Office installed.
Uninstall it and you problems will go away.
