Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, POP3 and auto reply

Is it possible to use the auto answer / reply function in outlook when:
- outlook is configured for an exchange server 2013 account
- the exchange server 2013 connects and gets the emails via pop3 connector?

I know, that auto reply / answer with pop3 configured on outlook does not work.

Thanks for your help

Yes. There is no limitation on this if you are using the pop3 collector to get the messages for exchange.

Having said that i would never recommend that you look at the pop3 collector as a permanent solution. It was only ever designed to allow you to migrate your MX records to shift your domain to the Exchange server.

Thank you Andrew
What about using the connector for IMAP on exchange together with auto reply? Is that a better solution?

It doesn't make a lot of difference as one is not dependent on the other.

The reason I don't like the POP3 collector is that it is prone to failure.
