is it safe to delete a nfs export - does it just delete the export (nfs) not the actual data

so to re-enable id just export the nfs again from the volume - netapp filer - basic question thanks saves me from rd and wr the exportfs file  - removing line for  nfs export i want to disable - thanks

It is safe to remove an export, as long as no clients have this export mounted at that time.

The data on a volume is always preserved, this has no relation with it being exported or not.
