Cannot play or record using new Juli@ soundcard

Hello Experts,
I recently purchased and installed an ESI Juli@ PCI soundcard for my Windows7 Pro desktop.  I was able to install the driver (although Windows made it difficult by not recognizing it as a new device and running the install wizard).  It appears as a device in my system.  I connected the 2 RCA outs to my computer speakers using an RCA/mini adapter cable.  I think I have all the Windows Sound options set up correctly.  When I try to play a music file, I get nothing out of the speakers.  I bought the card to do some vinyl-to-digital conversion using my turntable and a preamp on the inputs on the card and I'm also not receiving signal during recording.  Any ideas?

The fact that the card was not detected indicates you either got a faulty card or there is a conflict with another device in the system.  Afew years ago, for example, many of the ATI video cards came with exactly the same sound chip as the onboard sound and it was a roll of the dice each time the PC booted as to which would work (or sometimes neither would).
Try disabling the onboard audio in the BIOS and, if that still doesn't fix it, we need the details of the makes and models of the PC and video cards, OK?

Thanks.  I disabled the onboard audio in BIOS last night and now it's working.  Posts about this topic on the ESI forum suggested that this might be necessary, but in most cases you should not have to do this.
