UM across hybrid o365

Hi peeps

we have hybrid exchange solution with users migrating to o365.

Problem is MS has been a night mare with support. my advice. dont go there.

we have reverted from using SBC due to 3 months of useless MS support. I was told if we keep UM on premise, then we can via the hybrid cloud solution have voice mail sent to users o365 account. at present users who miss calls on the cisco telephony get messages on the exchange UM. those migrating to cloud are not getting messages.

how can I configure to have this working for o365 users. if I keep my UM on premise working with telephony. integrated so all voice messages are managed by UM. hope this makes sense.

Could you please tell me if I got this right?

You want to migrate your Exchange including UM to Office 365 (Exchange online) and want to integrate your Cisco CUCM with UM on cloud ? Is this correct!

I have done a research my self to see if this possible and I think it's possible however, everyone is saying to stay away from such thing as it's a night mare and both MS and Cisco are not working together to make this easier for people like you and me so that's why there's no clear and easy step by step guide for the integration.

From the research I made, The integration seems possible but in the same time it seems not easy and not well documented.

Cisco says in the below link that Microsoft Office 365 is supported and tested on the Release 8.6(2) of Cisco call manager . In the second link one of Cisco engineers says the  (DMZ) premises of Customer’s network.

You will need something like ( Cisco CUBE, Ingate, Sonus..etc )

I have tried to do this integration once with NET gateway and reading the their guide it seemed pretty easy but it will require a public (3rd party certificate) and a published IP to secure the connection between your Cisco call manager and the UM gateway on Microsoft's side as Microsoft will only use a SIP secured protocol for this connection.
