First, which EPM version are you installing?  Second, did it show up when you ran the configuration wizard?  Assuming it did, it should have insyalled the service and included it in the startup process for the EPM solution amd you should see the lknk to the EIS console in the start menu (once I saw this link not show up and I had to manually create it).
