Is there a way to make a form bound to a query updatable?

I have a form bound to a query which has two tales linked.  When I try to update a field in the form I can't because I guess the record is not updatable.  The form is opening in datasheet view if that matters.

try changing the form's property Recordset Type to Dynaset (Inconsistent Updates)
