Moving software from one pc to another pc

I have a computer that has a software installed on it, (lost install disc etc) is there a way to copy the files from one pc to another one and it work still?

PC Mover from Laplink can do this. That is what I suggest you try.

Lest it sound trite, please do keep your software. It comes in handy.

Also try Belarc to extract your serial numbers.  That way, if you can find someone with replacement media, you can borrow their disk, but use your serial number.

If you're desperate, most vendors will supply replacement disks (without serial numbers) for a moderate cost - 10-20 USD.  Call them and ask.
