Hi again Experts!

My system:

Model: iMac 21.5, Mid 2011
Processor  2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
Software  Mac OS X Ver. 10.9.1 (Mavericks

I've been prevented from using Apple iCloud, with the following Error Message always popping up: "iCloud Pref pane not useableCould not load iCloud pref pane." [see embedded clip].

What is happening here? Any suggestions?

The other likely reason is that iCloud is trying to sync. Just let it run overnight and see if it is working in the morning, or go into Activity Monitor and force quit the iCloud sync process.

Oy again!

I don't think it's the second scenario you describe, as these error messages have been bugging around since Mavericks - several weeks!
I'll go look at the solutions proposed in the Apple Forum you kindly supplied. It'll likely take me overnight to get back to you. Ain't had no dinner, I'm starving!

Meanwhile back in the saddle…

strung, I tried out the  solution for my unresponsive iCloud prefs panel suggested on that Apple forum you sent my way. I think my problem must be something else. The forum suggested "see if any iCloud processes (search: icloud) are not responding. If so, force quit processes and see if you're back in action."

My Activity Monitor showed only one single iCloud-related process running, "iCloud helper,"  and it was only idling, using zero resources. I killed it anyway for the heck of it, but that did nothing for my issue[s]. Still getting those two error messages - the present one and the earlier-posted one.

Have you checked the Console logs?

Do you by any chance have an old mobile.me account? That apparently can cause problems with iCloud.

With Safari open, find this folder and drag it to desktop :

User/library/Preferences/com.apple.iCloudHelper.

Quit Safari. Attempt to open iCloudPreferences again. If it opens, de-select "Safari."

Launch Safari and problem is fixed, no more annoying "SafariDAVClient quit" Error!

Yay!

If all is OK, drag that isolated folder to Trash.

Experts responded very little to my question, so I did my own online research to get this answer
