ASKER

Thanks.

So I need to purchase license based on number of users.

Please can you provide me another link to buy online.

Thanks
I would advise you to buy from a local reseller.

It usually pays to know and be in a good relation with the reseller, since they can assist you with most technical problems you'll encounter and can keep you up-to-date with offers and discounts.

If, however, you're set in buying online, please post your location, so I can track an online store that services your area.
I need to buy online,

Thanks. Can I use same purchased license on Multiple Computer in my organization.
Legally, definitely no.

Technically, you shouldn't be able to activate the same key on more than 1 machine.
Just little confused.

you mentioned "If the machine dies or you need to reinstall Windows, you can use the same license, you don't need to buy another." How the concept working ? How the licensing will identify I am using the same machine

And another thing, may be I need to give replacement to the damaged PC, can I install on new machine. ?

Just to verify ,

- I installed license on Machine A. The machine will contact the licensing server and then will save the records.

- Lets I assume this machine got replaced with another machine after 6 months, in this case how its gonna work ?

Sorry for repeating this stuff again.

Thanks
In that case the new machine will contact the server, give it the same license key and the server will assume it's a replacement for the old machine.

Or if, for whatever reason, it denies the authorization, you can call support, provide them with proof of license and they will help you.
It's your right to use the perpetual license you bought on one machine.
Thanks a lot for the help.
Just to inform this is the reply I got from reseller I want to exlude

The Autodesk license without Subscription it will expire but you can use the same version which you had purchased
And in case if System Crashed or Data loss we cannot Retrieve your License back.

Is this true ?? Please advise
Autocad will not expire, the Subscription will.

While you have an active Subscription you have access to the newest release of Autocad and you can install an additional copy at home, provided the computer is registered to the same individual and they are not used at the same time (basically it allows a registered user to work from home also).

When your subscription expires, your purchased Autocad copy will remain active.
If you'll want to upgrade, you'll need to pay. It's a rather steep cost ($2800) so if you intend to upgrade every 2-3 years a subscription makes more financial sense. Here are the benefits for subscriptions: http://www.autodesk.com/subscription/licensing

Your reseller cannot retrieve your license.
You can transfer the license to a new computer using the License Transfer Utility (LTU), using the procedure from here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=18221949&linkID=9240617

Or, in case of hardware failure, you reinstall Autocad and then reactivate it using the procedure from here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=17996352&linkID=9240617
Thanks
I also got this comment from the reseller Is this right

"SLM Stand Alone AutoCAD and it can be used on Single PC if you want to use on Laptop, Home PC than
You had to go for the Network License first you had to install it on the Server and on the Clients suppose if you take 2 License at a time only 2 users can log in and access the AutoCAD
If your Subscription is Active than only we can contact to the Autodesk Technical support in case if you HDD Crash or any Hardware issue with the PC ."
Depends on your usage.

If you use it on more than 5 computers, it's probably cheaper go for a Network License.
You'll have a lower price per station and the computers will use your server to activate instead of going to the Autodesk server.
With a network license every time you open Autocad on one of your computers, it will try to contact your server to verify that there are no more logged on users than your license allow.

I do not know if a network license interferes with the option to allow your employees to work from home, you'll have to ask the reseller.

I see no reason why you could not contact Technical Support yourself if you have a licensing problem, but, as I was saying at the beginning of this, it pays to have a good relationship with the reseller because they will have contacts that can expedite the procedures.
Quick note: if you don't know the reseller, make sure they are the real deal.
If in doubt, contact Autodesk to see if they are registered resellers.

You don't want to pay full price and get warez (cracked) copies of Autocad.
I don't want to get subscription but they are forcing me to take it.

Thanks
