I'm trying to set up a local environment on my box and I'm poised on the threshold of greatness with the exception of a consistent collection of errors everytime I attempt to utilize the Web Platform Installer.

Here are my error messages. What do I need to do differently and / or what are my options so I can be running SQL Server Express as a my database in IIS?

Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools for Visual Studio 2012 - August 2013
This product did not install sucessfully: Downloaded file failed signature verification and may have been tampered with.

Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools for Visual Studio 2010 - August 2013
This product did not install sucessfully: Downloaded file failed signature verification and may have been tampered with.

Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0
This product did not install successfully

SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access
This product did not install successfully

SQL Server Migration Assistant for Sybase
This product did not install successfully

SQL Server Migration Assistant for Oracle
This product did not install successfully

I've attached the Installer log just in case that proves helpful.

Bottom line: I want to install a local platform so can practice some basic queries and coding. I'm coming at this from a WAMP standpoint so I feel like a pig on rollerskates. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Rock on!

I've got IIS installed and I have SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012 installed.

I've run a couple of programs, so maybe I need to delete one of those files? Is that what's causing the hangup?

Hi,

IMO they are logicall upgrades which means 2012 is the current engine.
Did you downloaded the add ons for sql 2012?

Btw i see you downloaded addons for vs2010, is this installed?

Patrick!

I was able to get SQL Server installed simply by going out and grabbing the 2012 Express version and now all is well.

Thanks for weighing in!
