Embed third party images to drupal site
Hello,
I am creating couple of fields for my City content type, but I don´t know what module should I use to embed images from third party sites.
One of my fields name is City Image for which I would like http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/04/c1/60/a3/casanovas-hotel-boutique.jpg. But I don't know how to do to display the actual image and not the link.
Could you please help me?
Thanks
Winter

You could try this module:
https://drupal.org/project/remote_stream_wrapper

Thank you for your answer.
I activated the module but I don´t see it on my field types. Could you please take a look at the screenshot and see if I am just overlooking it?
Thanks

Hi itkadmin. Thank you very much for your answer.
You are right, I need to be cautious. I know the images are going to be added to the site by the site administrator so far.
There is a section on the website where the admin suggests places to go depending on the City. But he (the admin) does not want to upload images to the site, instead he wants to add them from third party places such as trip advisor.
I like the idea of adding the images without modules, so I am going to try your suggestion. I will be back shortly, I need to go out for a moment and in like in two hours I will back.
Thank you very much,
Winter

Try updating to the dev version of the module. Lots of times errors like that are fixed in the dev versions.

sorry for taking so long to reply. I am trying to get rid of this error that is not letting me see my content type in which I have the fields I need:
EntityMalformedException: Missing bundle property on entity of type file. in entity_extract_ids()
Once I find the solution for that, I will apply either of your solutions for the type fields.
Thanks

What type of fields are you working with?
ASKER
Mostly Images. I am going to update drupal core, it seems I have 7.24 and I need 7.26. If I keep getting that error message after the update, I will give you more details about the types fields I am working on. Perhaps I just need to update to get rid of that error. :)
