Exchange 2010  With Apple Mail/ ical -  Grant Account access

I have a weird issue and i don't know where to start.

We have about 20 mac  users (out of 100 employees) in our  company and are migrating via coexistence from exchange 2003 to exchange 2010 (sp 2 RU 8)

Normally the mac users grant read/write access to their department head so that the department head can schedule them for the week on specific tasks.    It worked well in entourage 2008 with exchange 2003.  

With Apple mail, some users are not able to grant read/write access to their calendar to the department head once the mailbox has been moved to exchange 2010.  I can grant access for the department head to my domain/exchange 2010 account and grant read/write access in apple mail.  The first mac user I moved over was able to grant read/ write access for their calendar.  

The next two i moved to the new exchange server moved over fine and email and calendars show up fine.  In Ical when i go to preferences - account - delegation -  edit (" you can change who can access your account by clicking the edit button) and enter the name (which it finds in the directory) and apply read/write to calendars or task i get the following error message "  The Server Responded with an error : ther was an unexpected error with the reques (domain EWSExchangeWebservicesErrorDomain/ error 94).  Entourage 2008 EWS shows the same error message.

The only error i see is event 2915 MsExchange ADAccess user 'Side~domain\username~EWS~false' has gone over budget '327' times for component 'EWS" within a one minute period. Info "policy:DefaultThrottlingPolicy_xxxxxxxxxxx'. Threshold Value: '100'.   which is received, i believe, when first adding the account to entourage or applemail
The users i'm having trouble with are relatively new to the company in the past year, and the other apple user i moved over has been here quite a few years, along with my account as well.


Domain/forest are native 2003 Exchange 2003 with latest sps and running on server 2003 sp2 (or latest)   Exchange 2010 is running all roles on one server 2008 r2 fully patched.

Hi

If only 20 users just do it yourself using Exchange's powershell on the server

Add-MailboxFolderPermission username:\Calendar -User departmentheadusername  -AccessRights Editor

This would give the user departmentheadusername   editor rights on calendar owned by username

Thanks for the command.. I will see if that works.. I just want to make sure everything is running correctly and i don't have a larger issue that i'm missing.

I am pretty sure it will work and dont worry when apple machine and outlook 2010 do not like eachother. I am facing this weekly.

Got the error " Warning: An unexpected error has occurred and a Watson dump is being generated: Object references not set to an instance of an object"

I realized Calendar what not capitalized and ran it again and recieved the same error message above when this in red

"Object refernece not set to an instance of an object.
         + Categoryino             : Notspecified: <:> [Add-MailboxFolderPermission], NullReferenceException
       
         + FullyQualifiedErroId : SystemNullReferenceException,Microsoft.Exchange.ManagementStoreTasks.AddMailboxFolerPermission

As a further test, i logged into a windows 7 VM with outlook 2007 and get the error message " A modified permissions cannot be saved"

I looked up the outlook error and came across this :  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2530497)  

This resolved the issue and i can now grant access from outlook, apple mail and entourage

using the powershell command you provided lead me to believe there were issues with the mailbox itself and add it to outlook  and following the knowledge base article resolved the issue.
