I am looking for any kind of help to point me in the right direction to create a members area.  I am new to ASP.net and I have made good progress, but the problem I am having is making a secure area.  I have already tried using Visual Web Developer 2013's login forms and I can not figure how to link it to an sql database and also add more fields to save to the database on the registration form.  I need more than a username pasted to the members areas.  Any help for giving me direction would be greatly appreciated.  I am looking to do possibly a MD5 hash.  I have developed some software in MS Access that uses MD5 hash for passwords so I would like to stay in that area as I am familiar with it.  Thanks in advance!!  Also one last thing, I am using Visual Basic not C#.

Hello russell12
I have an entire lesson setup on YouTube, that you might find useful.
And it is of VB.NET, so it is what you are looking for, as for the coding aspect of it.

ASP.NET (VB.NET) Video Lesson's

They show you how to
Create Cookies (Which can be used to do a Secure Login Script)
Read and Write to an Access Database.
Everything you will need to get yourself started in ASP.NET.

Please let me know if you need any further information on the video's provided.

Forgot to add, the lesson's also show how to read/write to a SQL Server database as well.
Everything that is shown for one database, is duplicated for the other database
So, that it covers both Microsoft database's for people to learn from.

Thank you four guidance on this issue.  I have searched YouTube up and down and couldn't find anything.  But this will definitely be a great help.  I am transitioning from access to asp.net vb.  So its been a journey.  Thanks again!!!

Hey Russell, not a problem.
I sat down one day, and decided to teach myself how to work with asp.net VB.net within Visual Studio. Doing the backend coding was rather fun, so I decided to make some video lesson's for it.
I hope that you find that they help you, as they have helped so many others in the past months that I have uploaded them.

Take care and good luck.
