hello
i would like to make my own HMI using visual basic and ActiveX

idea described here

is anybody has an experience doing this ?
where do i start ? could you advise please

what version of VB do i need ? --- i know new one will not work

also how to connect ActiveX ? do i need some additional software ?

i got ABB PM554 PLC

i dont need very complicated HMI that scada offers. and we dont have thousands of dollars to pay for it

any advise will appreciate!

VB 6 is latest to make activeX thats old now.

There is free vb 5 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/165524 download location is unknown.

i installed VB but i stuck! i cannot find any info online how to connect to PLC using visual basic and Active X!
so little info!

help or who can help ?
