problem sending emal from mac

Hi,

I have setup a macbook with thunderbird and whenever i try to send an email it comes back to me with an error message saying "an error occured sending mail: SMTP server error. The server responded <computername-po.local> is invalid or DNS says doe not exist.

Any ideas?

its definitely an issue with the macbook as i have just setup email with the same client on a windows machione on the same network and it sends fine

the mail server is at mail.iradio.ie 25 and i can connect to it no problem using

telnet mail.iradio.ie 25

How does "Mail" (the built-in mail client) work on that MacBook?

figured it out it was a setting with SSL

I added port 587 on firewall
