This question may be silly, but do you have a Linksys router and is it running its web interface at http://192.168.1.1? If not, it's not surprising you couldn't see that screen.

If navigating to that URL times out, then your router is not listening at that IP address. You'll have to consult the manual for your router for more information. If you can't use that URL, you should be able to find an example URL that uses basic authentication by searching around on the web.

Using your favorite search engine, searching around for things like "basic authentication example" should get you what you're looking for.

Maybe "basic authentication example" was a bad set of terms. I searched for "basic authentication test" and found several good test URL's within the first couple of results.

The very first page listed includes an example URL that you can use to practice: http://browserspy.dk/password-ok.php

I will try from home below link and let you know

http://browserspy.dk/password.php

You must use the following login information to login into the page password-ok.php
Username test
Password test

so i just need to go to that page
and enter username, pasword as test, test
That will basically Find out if my browser supports HTTP Basic Authentication also known as password protection right?

The server tells the client that authentication is required. The client asks the user for credentials, then sends them to the server. The server responds by either allowing the request to go through or giving an error code that says the user is not authorized.
