i am getting the following error while taking the backup of v-center

The job completed successfully. However, the following conditions were encountered: Backup Exec failed to connect to one or more virtual machines and was unable to collect the necessary metadata to restore individual application items. You cannot perform GRT-enabled restores of application data from this backup. You must install the Agent for Windows and the virtual machine tools provided by your host software on the virtual machine.

and also it take alot of time to complete the backup .i am using backup exec 2012

You need to install the Remote Agent on each of the virtual machines.

It doesn't back up using the agent, however, it still collects indexing metadata in order to perform a granular recovery.

If you do wish to perform a granular recovery, then the Remote Agent needs to be installed as well.

If you only ever plan to backup or restore the entire VM, then you don't need the Remote Agent, but to squelch this error you would need turn off GRT in your backup jobs (but this is not common to do so).
