Hi Team,

We have just migrated all the roles to the new DC 2012 . I noticed that when i shutdown 2008 DC ,my internet get really very slow and the minute it get back ,internet gets normal .

This is not happening if i also shutdown my proxy server which was setup by the previous manager when we were using 2008 DC. So something is there within proxy server that causing this issue.

We are using Squid proxy server on the open source and i have less knowledge about it . Can someone please guide me what setting's or what's in here that is causing the dns resolve or internet slow issue

Thanks
J

Make sure the 2012 is a GC.  Also make sure that the DNS/nameserver records for the workstations/severs including the proxy point to the new DC/DNS servers and not still referring to the Windows 2008.

If your squid is setup on its own system, make sure it has and uses its own local DNS service.
