I have my Yahoo account setup on my Windows 8 pc - it was working fine and then I changed my Yahoo password -- I am able to log into my Yahoo account via the web with my new password - but my Windows 8 Mail app is not working -- it advises me to check the settings - which I do and I have entered my new password - but for some reason it isn't working once I enter my new password.  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

You need to remove and add back the yahoo mail account to work on changing password if you use the built-in mail app.

If you install the yahoo mail app, you will not need to remove and re-add the email account.

I believe I am using the built-in mail app -- can you advise how to remove the account and add it back in?  Thank you

Remove an account

If you don't want to see email from an account in the Mail app anymore, you can remove the account. This doesn’t delete the original account or messages—you’ll still be able to get to them through a browser or another mail app.

On Start, tap or click Mail.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Settings.)

Tap or click Accounts.

Tap or click the account you want to remove.

At the bottom, tap or click Remove account or Remove all accounts.

One last question - do you think it is best to use the built in app for Mail or download the Yahoo mail app?

It depends.

If you want to integrate with the os more tightly, the built-in mail app is better. For example, if you want to send files via email from file explorer, the built-in mail app is better.

If you want a faster performance and a user intetface similar to the yahoo web mail, the Yahoo mail app is better.
