1. I am looking for developer or others tools or solution that can help me to  export SMS and contacts from Windows Phone 7.x .

2. I'd like to ask if someone can recommend software for decryption ZUNE files (backup windows phone  7.x) or maybe only possibilities for decryption?

I am looking for all suggestion and solutions

I have a Windows Phone 7.8 Nokia Lumia 800 , and I want to export all SMS and contacts in forensics way.

Probably see if this suffice and I believe forensic toolkit like paraben device seizure's logical data extraction can do that but at higher expense though

Hi Breadtan,

I have checked commercial software (Paraben support only export, Pictures and calendar - the same as synchronization with ZUNE )

I have checked also UFED, Oxygen and MPE, and there is a big problem with Windows Phone 7.x

So I still search solution and developer tools

Thank You for the link, I will check the link, that You have pointed.

Thanks, seems like Windows Phone Device Manager (WPDM) may meet and developer forum has more info but noting that others shared WPDM didnt help as it couldnt see the hidden Microsoft folder. it only showed up as 'file'. Alos seems like most use SMS Backup xap can export SMS to XML (and can even bring into Android)

Data recovery on Windows Phone 7.5 or "Mango"  is much more difficult. This is describe below and seems unlock interops is way to go.

http://dig-forensics.blogspot.sg/2012/07/windows-phone-75-analysis.html

Couple of tool in summary from the a/m (with tools links in above)
To recover SMS Messages - SMSBackup
To interop unlock - WP7 Root Tools
To access isolated storage (apps backup msg) - WP7 Isolated Storage Explorer

Another side note from below is use of MS Outlook to sync though it does not back up your system settings or your apps. But from the apps retrieve the info where possible. Zune allows backup but it is encrypted.

Not an easy field but looking at developer tools seems preferred compared to establish mobile phone forensic tool as the latter focus on iOS and Android more.
