I have to make changes to this site.  The pages are not in html.  Can I still bring file over into dw to make changes and upload file or will it add a whole bunch of unnecessary code?

What is this site using for its pages?  php?  asp?   Don't the pages normally end with .php or .asp?

The site is made using a CMS: http://www.silverstripe.com/
Runs on PHP/Mysql

You can use DW, but I don't recommend it. The CMS will already have a edit interface and templating system.
