Outlook 2007 - name cannot be matched to a name in the address list

i am trying to connect to an old mailbox using outlook 2007. I have tried from several computers. My suspicion is that the user has been disabled for some years and now something is corrupt.

Or maybe i am missing something. But i have tried configuring outlook using both the automatic and manual settings and continue to receive the error message:

Check the account to see if the user is Hidden from the GAL.  If the user is hidden, you will not be able to attempt a match in this manner.
