I have two PDF's and each is 4000 pages.

I don't want 2000 "A" pages, following by 2000 "B" pages.  Instead, I need to merge them so that the resulting document is 8000 pages and the two documents need to alternate pages A,B,A,B,A,B...etc.

What would be the easiest way to accomplish this?  Thanks.

Solved my own question.  I used Automator on my MAC to merge the PDFs.  This also gives me the option to append or shuffle the pages.
