problems with printing in published apps citrix
2008R2 server Xenapp 6.5 r03. I have 5 servers in the farm 2 of which started having issues printing a couple of days ago. It can take up to 4 mins to print out a 1 page pdf, doc or whatever. Every step of the printing process has slowed it takes up to a min after you click print for the print dialog to come up. The way we have printers installed for users is they install them from a citrix desktop from a 2008 R2 print server. Im not getting any log errors on the print server or citrix server the only thing i get is if I go into devices and printers on a citrix desktop (published app) when I print sometimes I can see all the printers get greyed out and its states can not connect with a Yellow warning sign. I can print fine logging onto the citrix server locally it seems to only be from published apps and only from 2 out of 5 servers the other 3 work fine. I have had the servers in production for 6 months or so with no issues like this and I have not changed anything to cause this. I did just update to hotfix R03 from R01 in hopes that would fix it but it did not, I have also tried switching up print drivers but its happening on all printers so I wasnt expecting that to help and it didnt . Any ideas on what might be causing this would be helpfull Im running out of things to try.

One thing worth noting is that when the issue is happening, after I click print and the printer dialog box comes up (slow) it shows the printer and states "attempting to connect" for up to a min.. then it will connect and allow me to click print but it doesnt hit the printer for a extended period of time up to a min sometimes more depending on the size of the file

I didnt scroll down far enough to see that. updating our universal print driver got it working for about a week then yesterday it started happening again, I changed the citrix print policy a bit and its working better now, Ill have to let the test roll for a while I will start with the MS updates you suggested next
Great. I am in the process of testing those same MS fixes myself, and so far, they are working. It'll take me a few weeks to make sure it really works..

For us the issues came back 2 weeks after changing the driver. I had to change the citrix printer policy and our printing has been working well for a few weeks now.
Are you up to date on these? I thought I was, but I just recently checked and several new ones had been added, so I'm in the process of updating those now.
