vcenter appliance bkp issues

do any of you run the vcenter server linux based appliance in your infrasructure? if so is it true it is much harder to backup the appliance than it is a normal VM? what tools do you use to back up the appliance, and can you elaborate on any issues / diffculties with backing up the appliance?

Any Virtual Machine or Virtual Appliance can be Backed Up, it's not anymore difficult, we use VMware Data Protection, and Veeam Backup and Replication deal with Appliance backups with no issues.
