CRM 2011 Rollup 14 issues

Greetings,

We moved to rollup 14 on CRM 2011 in preparation to upgrade to 2013 but have some issue with the ribbon bar. Any workarounds for this issue.

Attaching screenshot - the issue is the ribbon bar is grayed out when a contact is open and a related activity such as activity or indeed any entity in the related section on the bottom left hand panel is selected. This is also an issue when any item on the information navigation panel is selected.

This worked prior to the rollup. Kind regards. J

Thanks for posting the screenshot. My system does seem to behave differently.  Other than suggesting that it might be a browser issue or applying UR15 or UR16, I can't think of anything else to suggest. Sorry.

DO have any form scripts running for the contact entity? I think a setting was introduced in UR14 that removed support for scripts that used some cRM 4.0 functionality. Have a look at System Settings on the customization tab for something called HTML component support.

Of course, it might have nothing to do with your issue but worth a check.

HTML component support

Set whether forms should support HTML components. The Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 API uses this feature, which is deprecated and will no longer be included after the next major release. If you have form code running that uses the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 API, you must select this box

I've looked at your question again and tried to emulate your scenario on my system (which has UR15). I open a contact and can see that items on the ribbon are enabled.

If I click on any item on the left hand navigation, the focus of the ribbon changes to another tab. For example, if I click Closed Activities, a new tab, List Tools, Activities is shown on the ribbon. If I then click the Contact tab on the ribbon the display changes back to the main contact form and the buttons on the ribbon are all enabled.

Are you performing a different sequence of events?

Thank you Feridun for taking the trouble to look at this. When I click on say closed activity, the ribbon is as per screenshot and once I click on any of the related items, the ribbon fails to revert back to normal. Thanks for assistance again.
