NFS on esxi 3 nics: howto configure?
Hi,
I used to configure iscsi for my home lab esxi. Now I found out nfs makes my life easier: just shutdown vm s and make a backup from the files.
My question now: the esxi has 3 nics, for iscsi config was: 1 management nic, 2 other nics for iscsi ip in failover.
Howto optimize nics for nfs? Nas on which vms has 3 nics, but want to use Max 2 of them for other traffic then files.
Please advise.

Bond, both your NAS nics, e.g. in a trunk, or etherchannel. to give you 2 x 1GBps = 2GBps uplinks to your switch.

Thanks, I remember a reason why I didn t do this in the past. Not sure what it was. Incompatible switch? ....
Possible, Jumbo Frames if supported on your physical switch, is always worth enabling, and can reduce latency.
If you are now using XPEnology firmware, you could use your SSDs in a Read and Write cache mode. (for the NAS), which would reduce latency read and writing to rotational conventional hard drives. 2 are requried.

Thanks, xpenology indeed bit the cache function does not work.
Note: my q was actualy on configuring the 3 nics from esxi, not the nas (but advise on that was welcome).
