Quickbooks Turnover Report

QuickBooks 2010

How can I run a report in QuickBooks that would provide my accountant with a report for the company of "Turnover for the pervious year net of VAT" ?

Thank you,
Robbie

When Sales Tax is filed, the Revenue and Input Tax Credit accounts are affected by the filing itself.

With that in mind, there are two reports that you can go back to in history.

1. In QuickBooks, Reports, View File Sales Tax Returns. These are internal PDF copies of the actual filing. They are on the same basis as the filing dates (quarterly in my case).

2. In QuickBooks, Reports, Tax Agency Detail Report. Select the Tax Agency, and then select go to the Dates pull down and select (say) Last Sales Tax Year. That will give you all the revenue and input tax credit transactions for the year. Of course the filing journal entries are included and the ITC totals to 0 if the last quarter was filed.

The Tax Agency Detail Report can be exported to Excel if you want to further summarize it or exclude the filing records.

Those are the two basic ways to get historical Sales Tax Reports.
