WSUS IIS directories

I had a 2008 server running WSUS and it stopped working.

I could not remove it or repair it using any information I found online including removing IIS virtual directory.  I went through the registry and removed every reference to WSUS. I was then able to reinstall however the IIS virtual directory did not get recreated.

Any idea how I can recreate that so hopefully WSUS will start working again.

you could try

 cscript WSUSInstallDirectory\setup\installselfupdateonport80.vbs

That created self update folder. The WSUS administrator virtual directory still is not there

I know it should have created it but it did not. The reinstall went well except for the IIS portion.

Best to uninstall/reinstall then

I manually removed every reference to WSUS in the registry and there were many. All is working now
