I have several enterprise level reports that I am going to parse and load into various tables in SQL Server 2012. I am then going to need to divide out the data by region and distribute to the regional personnel. I have a web server (2008 R2) that I would like set up a website to allow regional users to download data through either a dynamic query to excel or text file for review. I was hoping someone might have a link to a sample project (asp.net: VB.Net or C# ) which is similar so I can use it as a reference point to build from. I am not tied to any specific implementation but I was considering using SQL Server Reporting Services for the report information and using a web application to manage the download and security. I am not tied to any specific methodology but I would like to use the 2 tools (sql server / web server) that already have project approval. Please provide a link to any relevant examples or provide alternative method for implementation. Thanks in advance for your help!

Following link leads to the official Microsoft page on Codeplex containing SSRS samples: SQL Server Reporting Services Product Samples

Especially the Application samples should be interesting to have a look at.  They'll give you an idea what you can do with the report server objects and web services.

The ReportViewer object is also interesting to further investigate.  There's a Windows.Forms and an ASP.NET implementation of this object. GotReportViewer is an interesting reference page for that, containing several downloadable samples.

I am in the process of installing Adventure Works database so I can test out some of the functionality (http://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/releases/view/55330). Thanks
