client has given me following details for me to connect to their service

in Visual studio, when I add either uri or proxy, I get prompted for username / password

Uri:   https://pi.xxx.yyy.com/aaa
Proxy: https://piadmin:pi@pi.xxx.yyy.com/cgi-bin/temper.cg

what do I need to do ?
do I need username/password from client?
do I need to setup proxy (I guess I do?) in which case how do I do this on windows?

Yes get the credential details from the client.  Maybe in each call from proxy you should pass the credential again.
