How to enable wired network and wifi works at the same time

How can I connect my wired network port to our intranet to access local file server, and at the same time use wifi to connect to a 4G wireless internet?

I am running Windows 7 pro. thanks

What you describe should work fine.
To see how the local network's routing will be handled, open a command prompt and run
route print

Every packet is handled according to the rules there, processed from the bottom up... so at the top, 0.0.0.0 matches everything that wasn't handled by a routing rule further down.

There should be an entry for your intranet that sends traffic destined for your local network out through the wired adapter.

Note that table is recalculated and rewritten every time a change is detected in any adapter's status.
