ASA Monitoring

Hello All,

I have inherited an environment with a number of ASA 7710 devices.  I'm looking at gathering some traffic stats in order to prepare for an MPLS implementation.

Using ASDM, there are some nice graphs and tables :)  I reckon I can get an idea of the traffic passing through by reporting on the interfaces and grabbing the stats for Byte Counts and Bit rates.

The byte count appears to be cumulative - so no problems there.

Can anyone tell me how the bit rate works?  Is it an average over the time period selected or is it the bit rate passing over an interface at the current time displayed?

I think it's a five-minute average, but my information may be out of date.
