Hi,

Please review the attached spreadsheet. We would like to insert scroll bars in each cell. (Cell A1, B1 and C1). We should be able to scroll through the text. I have tried inserting the scroll control from the developer tab but it displays only numbers.

I know that we can use the textbox control and do some changes in the properties windows so that scroll bars works, However, i would not be able to format the required text in this text box. Kindly advise. Would macro help?

Regards,

From what I've read, Excel doesn't allow for scrolling in a cell itself, you need to insert an ActiveX control to look like a cell with scrollbar.

Open the Developer tab in Excel (you may need to add that).

Click on "Insert", then from the ActiveX controls section, select "Text Box".  It looks like: ab|

Draw the area where you would like the text box to appear.

Make sure that box is selected, then click on "Properties" in the ribbon.

Set EnterKeyBehavior, MultiLine, and WordWrap to True. Set ScrollBars to 2 - fmScrollBarsVertical.

Close the Properties box then paste in your text.

In the attached file, I've put a textbox with scrollbar in approximately cell B2 was located.

Ok. I knew how to use Textbox control. I had mentioned this in the question. I would want to know if we can insert a scrollbar control in the cell which has too much text.

Sorry, I guess I didn't pay close enough attention to your post.  I'm not macro or VB savvy, so maybe someone else can help.
