Suggestions to deploy solution to run Autocad 2013 for Remote Users

Hello Experts,

I was recently asked to look into a solution to run Autocad 2013 Civil 3d for 5 remote users. Currently they have been working all from their own workstations at their own location then upload their projects to a cloud storage to share projects between them. It looks that this method is not very efficient.

My first idea was to run Terminal Services from their central office, but after doing some research it looks that TS is not supported to run Autocad and people that have tried it have horrible problems.

My second idea was to run virtual PCs under a Vmware Hypervisor at their central office. They could VPN then RDP into their own Virtual PC and run autocad each on their own VM. I dont know if this would work but apparently people have deployed vmware view to allow this.

If anyone has an idea or has tried this I would greatly appreciate it you could point me to any solution available.

Thank you,

i would suggest to test XenDesktop from Citrix.
If you have external users with the need of performant (3d) rendering, you need fast, secure access and the possibility to provide Hardware 3D-power within the VDI-Session.
With Xendesktop and the citrix-xenserver (included within the license) you have all this options.

Thanks for your response.
Yes after doing more research I did see that this platform is the only one that supports running the 3D capabilities. I will need to do some more research and see if my customer is willing to go this route. Thanks anyway for your suggestion.
