Shadow Copy of Hyper-V Host

I have a 2012 Hyper-V Host running 3 VM's
1) 2012R2 Essentials DC
2) Server 2012/Exchange 2013
3) Server 2012 with IIS

I am using a 3rd part backup solution (Veeam) on the host to a USB disk attached to the host.

I have shadow copies enabled on all of the VM's.  Should it also be enabled on the host??

Thanks Cliff,

I've been getting a few errors on backup and discovered I didn't have shadow Copies on on my exchange server or on my host.  Enabled them on exchange but wasn't sure about the host.

Steve
Shadow Copies use the same engine as VSS, but they serve two different purposes. You shouldn't need to enable shadow copies on an exchange server either.
Hmmmmm....I thought this was my problem.  Seems like when I do my backup especially on the exchange I get buku errors on it.  I thought they were essentially the same process which I guess they are.  Maybe just different activations?
Like I said, same underlying engine. But even the processes are different.
