Hi - I have a cs3.swf - a flash object in temp internet files

its a flash object - that changes wording and color

Thing is even when i go to say google.com - it is continually trying to pull the file down from our oracle web portal web server on ANY website - totally unrelated to the flash object.

Is this normal ?   I can see this concurring via wireshark.

is this a result of poor programming or is this simply how flash works - pulling data down even though im on a totally non related web site. - Also will this stop if i cleared the temporary internet files - removed the .swf file?

Thanks - any help greatly appreciated - an it colleague is questioning why he sees this traffic when he is on google

If he is in a tabbed browser this is typical activity. The page continues to run but the window may not be active.  If he closes your webpage or re-uses the page to go to another site then all traffic to/from your site will cease.

Thanks David,
Unfortunately - the situation is that he tested thoroughly and closed - ALL browsers - went to google.com - and the .swf continued to download.

He even went to another server/client - ran up JUST google.com site and - ran the capture - and the .swf was downloading even on this machine. - Again I presume that the .swf was in temp internet files. - I dont know if flash can work in his manner? - be in some sort of loop? its cs3.swf - ant further ideas?
