Our office is considering App-V implementation during upgrading from xp to 7.

According to microsoft website
Http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg548576.aspx

>you have considered App-V as an option for delivering the incompatible applications and have concluded that even after you implement App-V, you still have application operating system compatibility issues that you must address.

I thought App-V would be able to resolve all xp applications operating system compatibility issue on windows7, however this description indicates there seems to be some exceptions.
Do we might encounter still operating system incompatibility issue even though App-V is implemented ?

I would like to know what kind of reason could cause these exceptions ?

Regards

There are a multitude of reasons why one would virtualize an application and not all applications can be virtualized (copy protection/ hardware requirements etc)
What App-V and other virtualization technologies do is capture the system state of the machine, and then any changes are recorded and then put into the virtual machines settings which should allow you to run the program under app-v.  Not all changes may have been caught.. App-V and vmware thinapp work in 90% of cases. It is the 10% that you have to tweak things and some programs simply cannot be virtualized

1.  Doesn't Microsoft recommend that sequencer os should be same with client os ?
2.   What happens if capturing 64bit application on windows 7 64 bit and run that on windows 7 32 bit client under app-v ?
