is there an easy way in excel to group and filter 2 columns (A and B)... I know there is the advanced filter and filter for unique records only for a single column, but I need to group for 2 columns worth of data, (e.g. column A represents a database, column B represents a table, column C represents a field), I want to filter my data to get a list of all unique database and table parings. As it stands my data is in a format similar too

a                      b                       c
----------------------------------------------------
db1                  mytable            field1
db1                  mytable            field2
db1                  mytable            field3
db1                  othertable        field1
db1                  othertable        field2

in the above I want to filter my data so it should essentailly ignore column c, and group the unique pairings of and and b, so as above I should get

db1  mytable
db1  othertable

If you select columns A and B only, then go to Advanced Filter, you should be able to filter unique items in place based on the A and B column only, and get the results you show.
